Best method : Flow-chart Policy

Postby sawi » Nov 28 15 6:10 am

Hi.

I try to use flow chart policy for web filtering.

Currently i use :
1. WWW Proxy Server : Proxy Request - for web filtering
2. WWW Proxy Server : Connect Request - for SSL port filtering (then I use call policy to send SSL connection to WWW Proxy Server : Proxy Request)

After some reading on Wingate Help... I saw that WWW Proxy Server : Request can use on both SSL & non-SSL connection.
So, is't good to use only WWW Proxy Server : Request for filtering SSL & non-SSL site, including SSL port filtering?

Thanks.

Hi

sorry it took so long to get to this post

Basically we just made the different events available in case people wanted to set different policy for http vs https. The event / flow-chart policy pre-dates web access control by a few years.

But if you want to say have a list of web sites you block for both http and https, then you can use the WWW proxy: Request event, but actually you may be better off just using web access control, since if you use https inspection then you can display proper block pages for https request denials.
