Upstream Proxy | SOCKS4a and SOCKS5?

Postby Talicada » Jan 17 16 2:07 pm

Currently there is no support for SOCKS4a or SOCKS5 for when sending a WWW Proxy Server connection upstream.

Are there any plans to add these additional protocols anytime soon?

If not, Feature Request?

Hi

I added SOCKS4A since that only took about 10 minutes.

SOCKS5 is more difficult since it is a lot more traffic back and forth (negotiating auth method and authenticating etc) before connecting.

If the main aim is to take the DNS lookup away from the initial proxy, then SOCK4a should do the trick.

Taking the DNS lookup away from the initial proxy was the main reason as to why I wanted to have those added.

Thank you.
