Hi,

Can you expand on what you're trying to do? Do you want to block iTunes all the time from all LAN computers? What are the users doing at apple.com with iTunes that you want to block?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi,

You can use web access rules to block access to videos. If you create a new data list you can store a list of extensions and resources that you can block with the same rule and classification.

Go to Control Panel::Data and choose the global data tab at the bottom of the panel
Choose new list from the tasks panel
Set the list to pattern match and enter:
*/video*
*.mp4

Go to Web Access Rules::Manual Classifier
Choose Add rule from the tasks panel
Select If URL, matches data list, select the data list you created above
Classify as, click the select button, add a new category and name it something like video

Go to Web Access Control::Access Rules
Choose Add rule from the tasks panel
Name the rule and set the rule result to deny access
Choose the user/groups to apply the rule to or select everyone
Leave the where tab set to all IPs
On the What tab select the category you created
Leave the When tab set to always and click finish

Now you should be blocking access to streaming videos, and you can add resources to your data list if you need to, to block more types of content.

Regards,

Matt

Hi,

Yes, it will apply if you're using proxy settings in the browser to connect to the WinGate WWW proxy. We recommend that you use proxy settings to connect to WinGate because browsers behave differently when they think they're connecting to the end server.

If you need to use intercepting to capture the connection and you want to intercept HTTPS traffic on port 443, you'll need to use SSL inspection, and this will require you to generate or import a certificate in WinGate and also place the certificate in the local machine certificate store on the client machines.

It depends on the router you use. Every router have an option to restrict a website. Find it out in settings of your router.
