HTTPS access problem

Postby wmac » Jun 17 16 4:00 am

Hello,

I tried to find a topic that discusses my problem but I cannot clearly understand some of them or perhaps they do not discuss the same problem.

- I have installed wingate, defined a user, defined an access rule which allows access to everything (all websites, all the time...) for authenticated users and disabled rules that allowed access to non-authenticated users.

- I changed the web proxy service port to 8080.

- I configured firefox http proxy to 8080 and selected the "use the port for all protocols" (including SSL proxy).

- When I browse normal http sites, the browser properly authenticates and opens the page (activity monitor on wingate confirms that the pages and files are delivered).

- When I visit https pages, however, I receive this error: The proxy server is refusing connections

1- Should I configure something else?
2- Can I do it using free 10 user license?

Thanks.

Hi,

I can get Firefox to complain about the proxy server refusing connections, but only when I uncheck "Use this proxy server for all protocols". Can you double check that that is checked in your proxy settings please?

Does it work for IE or Chrome?

It sounds like you've got WinGate set up properly. What if you temporarily add a rule that allows all access for everyone, are you able to access then?

Regards,

Matt
