License requirement for Redundant Server

Postby sadikulbari » Mar 06 19 9:55 pm

Hello,

I'm planning to purchase wingate Enterprise unlimited concurrent users license. I've two server (one is cold redundant but should be ready for plug and play).
I'll be using windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise and HW spec is quite good.
The question is - do i need to buy two license for both servers, even when one is redundant and offline ?

Thanks,
Bari

Hi Bari

I think you contacted support about this issue as well, please let us know if the issue is not resolved.

The short answer about licenses for redundancy is it depends on how your redundancy works. A license is required for each installation of WinGate, however if you for example used Hyper-V failover, then since there's only 1 VM then there would only be 1 license required.
