Wingate is detected as a proxy.

Postby Davros » Apr 15 20 12:04 am

Hello

I recently installed WinGate which I think is a great package and offers a really good level of configuration. However, when i visit infobyip dot com, i am seeing:

Transparent proxy was detected based on the following HTTP headers:
adding X_forwarded_for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (by IP addresses are the same and are the address of the proxy server

How can I strip out this HTTP header altogether?

Hi,

Have you configured an upstream proxy at all?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi

normally WinGate doesn't insert X-Forwarded-For header unless it has been configured to use an upstream proxy (meaning configuring the WinGate proxy to connect out via another proxy).

This is in the connection tab in the WWW proxy configuration.
