Wingate 9 crashing

Postby philiplim » Oct 11 21 12:37 pm

Wingate 9 service constantly crashes (stops) in less than a minute after starting, making it unusable. This is on a fresh install of Wingate 9 on a Win 10 machine.

Wingate 8 works fine.

How to diagnose why it's crashing?

Thanks!

Hi Philip

Do you have any crash dump files you can send in? Normally these are uploaded when WinGate starts up, but possibly they aren't getting submitted.

It's possibly something to do with event processing, e.g. a broken script or similar can sometimes cause a crash.

Did you migrate the settings from WinGate 8 to 9?

Hi Adrien,

I don't have any crash dump files. How can I generate the crash dump files?

I've tried a fresh install of Wingate 9, and also an upgrade from Wingate 8. In both times, the services crashes (just stops) after startup (in less than a minute). Restarted numerous times, and it just crashes again thereafter.

Thanks,
Philip

Hi Philip

It will be creating a crashdump file, it's just a matter of finding it.

Best option may be to contact our support desk, and someone can arrange to remote into your computer with teamviewer and see if we can track this down.
