How to integrate LDAP?

Postby TSRalex » Oct 19 21 2:00 am

Hello Community,

I´m evaluating WinGate and I wonder how to integrate LDAP?

On help.qbik.com nothing is mentioned, but in the Web are on different sites about WinGate hints toward LDAP are given?

Hope you can enlighten me - thanks.

HI

do you mean you want to use LDAP to authenticate to WinGate?

WinGate user database options are only

* WinGate Native
* Local Windows system
* Active Directory

Of course AD uses LDAP, but WinGate is a client in this case.

Where can I find the description of the WinGate Native Database?
I would need to find a solution to synchronize it with the LDAP.

Of course there are some possibilities to synchronize LDAP with AD, but honest to say - if any other way is possible, I don´t like to operate an AD additional.....

Hi

What LDAP database are you using? Is this on a *nix machine or something?

WinGate user database stores everything in local Windows registry.

We´re using GLUU-LDAP (https://gluu.org/) and the easiest way will be to switch on the AD on our Win Server 2019 and to synchronize it with the GLUU-LDAP (https://gluu.org/docs/gluu-server/4.3/user-management/ldap-sync/).

Thanks for your efforts - for me is all clarified at the moment.
