Wingate Engine not starting

Postby neilm » Nov 30 03 3:50 pm

Hi All,
I am running Wingate v5.2.0 on Windows XP Pro. As of this afternoon, the Wingate Engine will not start. Gatekeeper's little icon stays yellow, reports "Wingate Engine Starting" for a minute or 2, then times out.
Wingate was working fine yesterday, then today it's stuffed.
I have upgraded to v5.2.0 this afternoon, in an attempt to get the thing going, but no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Rgds

Neil,

When all else fails -

Stop the WinGate Engine
Delete the HISTORY.DBF and HISTORY.CDX files from the WinGate directory
Start the WinGate Engine

These files sometimes become corrupt and really confuse things.

Let us know how it goes.

Many many thanks - removing the 2 "history" files worked a treat - Wingate it up and running.
Once again, many thanks
