XBox 360 Live NAT Moderate

Postby Kadav3r » Dec 07 06 8:50 pm

Hi,

I have searched through the posts and come across the following post http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=5013&highlight=xbox+live that is very similiar to the problem I'm getting.

When setting up my XBox 360's network I get that the NAT connection is "moderate" and not "open" as it should be.

I was wonder if that ticket was ever solved, and if so where can I get the solution to the problem.

Using Wingate 6.1 I think, havent upgraded to 6.2 yet.

Thanks

That forum post turned into a support ticket.

1. The first thing we noticed was he had his network setup with Autonet addresses (169.254.x.x) so we advised moving over to an ip address range like 192.168.0.x

---> He replied saying it made no difference.

2. We then loaded his WinGate registry and he had some really funky looking settings in there which looked like they were created out of desperation and having no networking knowledge. So we got him to remove them and advised the correct settings.

We also advised to check his WinGate firewall tab to see if there were any hits coming from the XBox Server for that particular game and gave him the procedure for opening the ports.
GateKeeper --> View menu --> Firewall
ENS --> Port Security

After that advice, he never replied to our support tickets again. I sent him an email last night asking if our suggestions helped resolve his issues and he has not replied.
