Hi

What SMTP server are you using to send the mail to - your ISP? Or WinGate.

Where do you see the error message? In your Email client when it sends, or in an email sent back to you?

Hi Adrein,

I'm using Wingate 5.0.7, I'm using the mail to ISP via Wingate correct me if I'm wrong, I set this from Wingate Control Panel, Services Tab, I created New service then SMTP Mapping, I choose Support inbound mail via Internal mail server, I put on Internal server the smtp provided by our ISP because this ISP also host our e-mail. I wondering why this error occured because there is no problem to incoming mail.

Through Wingate Services, I'm using POP3 Proxy Server with Port 110 and SMTP Proxy Server with Port 25

I saw the error message during testing using Outlook XP and Outlook Express when it send.

No problem regarding Internet sharing

Any help you provide is highly appreciated

Regards,
Ding

I have this problem too, and I don't know what happen, it was working for some days, and repently, it stopped to send mails from the clients. I just had changed somethings on the Port Security, but I was thinking it was wrong, and I reinstalled the Wingate, to get the default configurations for the Port Security back, but the problem continues...

It's the second time it happens. I had installed the Wingate Server on another computer, and was working, then one day it stopped, then I couldn't fix the problem, then I installed on another computer, and it worked fine for some weeks, and now, stopped again... It receive messages, but don't send...

In my case, the SMTP server from my ISP requires authentication, that I think may be the problem...

I am using Outlook Express and Outlook 2000, and both can't send emails, it always ask for the password when is sending message.

I configured like this on the outlook/outlook express:

POP SERVER: 192.168.1.6
SMTP SERVER: 192.168.1.6
USER: USERNAME#POP.CWB.TERRA.COM.BR
MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION: on

The SMTP Proxy Server on Wingate is like this:
PORT: 25
SUPPORT OUTBOUND MAIL VIA ISP MAIL SERVER: on
OUTBOUND SERVER: SMTP.CWB.TERRA.COM.BR

When I change the options of the SMTP Proxy Server, Wingate tells me about the port, because is the same of the SMTP Server from the System Tab on Wingate.

Somebody could help us??

Thanks!!
Eduardo

I'm have problem too. Outlook Express from client computer cannot send email . Receive is OK. If install WGIC on client , it will send OK. Wingate 5.1 no have this problem

Problem is when sending email in Outlook Express

The progress bar of sending mail run to a hafl or under 50 % it will stop for long time and show error message

On Gate Keeper show status of client IP try to connect to mail server on port 25

Such problem not happen when WGIC installed on Client but I don't like to use WGIC

Firewall is disable
SMTP server is stop
POP server is stop
I don't use Wingate email server but when reinstall Wingate server with option install email server , problem same
