PPTP through WinGate

Postby labull » Sep 25 03 9:15 am

I can't seem to get outbound PPTP through WinGate to work.

I've tried with/without the firewall disabled with no success.

I've successfully connected from a system not behind WG.

PPTP worked a few versions ago but not lately.

Thanks!

More on this.

I get an unusal entry in GateKeeper Activity window when attempting PPTP through WinGate.

Since I can't post the image I'll try it in text.

I've never seen that one before.

Thanks!

OK

That means a NAT session was created with a protocol not recognised by GateKeeper.

Probably GRE packets, which have a different IP protocol number.

Are you willing/able to test a new driver? We have done a HEAP of work on the 5.1 beta drivers which we hope to release with 5.0.8. We found a couple of problems with the 5.0 drivers that we couldn't fix with the architecture they had.

Also just found a problem with Intel Pro/100+ adapters. If you are using these on your WinGate server, make sure you disable the Flow Control option for them - it is a killer, makes the NIC driver start swallowing buffers without releasing them.
