OWA 2003 and Wingate

Postby ifenton » Jan 12 07 3:20 am

Quick question. We host a our own web site and since we upgraded to exchange 2003 our OWA does not work. Understandable as OWA 2003 works differently to exch 5.5. We have a virtual directory on our website e.g. www.domain.com/exchange which used to connect to our OWA 5.5.
Is there a way to proxy any http connections looking for www.domain.com/exchange to http://exchangeserver/exchange from wingate. I know I can proxy from web site public ip address to internal ip address of server but can wingate proxy or redirect web pages or am I looking at IIS or some other software.
Thanks

Hi

only thing I can think of is to set up a setting in your web server so that if it gets a request for www.domain.com/exchange, it redirects the client to another site name which resolves to another IP which you can then pipe through to your exchange server.

IIS for example can do redirects based on file or folder level.

If your webserver is behind a proxy, then you can use reverse proxy features if you redirect to another site name that resolves to the same IP, e.g. if you control your DNS, you could set up owa.domain.com, redirect any requests for www.domain.com/exchange to owa.domain.com, and then WinGate as reverse proxy (since 6.2) can distinguish the different host tags in the requests and pipe through to different internal web servers.
