It also sometimes happens to me that I have a problem when I try to open a .pdf document by clicking on a .pdf link on a web-page.

Two days ago, I was on another site, and accessed the Internet via WinGate 5.2. I clicked on a .dpf link, the document gets apparently downloaded, but does not get displayed on the screen. Then I proceed as follows: I save the .pdf to the disk first, then open it from there.

Today, I being on a different office, but with the same notebook PC, on a network with WinGate v5.2 with http proxy, I clicked on a .pdf link in a Web-page, and the Acrobat Reader gets started, the .pdf document gets downloaded, and the document is actually displayed.
(The example I am trying here is: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/refere ... aviors.pdf

I am not sure what causes this problem of not getting the .pdf displayed although Acrobat readed gets started.

This is not a Wingate issue, i have experinced tha same problem through Ciscos, ISA, Checkpoint etc. I think its has something to do with the reader or the plugin, if you download to disk it will work.
