Big log of Audit Windows 2000 problem

Postby ialonso » Sep 27 03 4:56 am

Hello support,

One of our big customers have a problem with Wingate pro 5.0.2 unlimited.

They have activated the security policies in AD in the windows 2000 domain in order to audit account logon events, correct and incorrect, (the security log of the event viewer).

Wingate is configured to authenticate the users with the Active Directory Users database. The authentication Works fine, but in the windows 2000 security log of the machine with wingate apperars a lot of incorrect authentication events of stations with Wingate Internet Client. We have just put an sniffier on the net, and we have find that there are a lot of authentication events from stations to the Wingate Server in port 2080. This events are random, in the origin (stations) and also in the time.

Our customer needs to reduce the log and resolve the problem of this events.

Please, any idea or solution about this inconvenient?

Need more information?. Please tell me.
