Need Wingate to remember cached web site on cold boot?

Postby Microtrends » Feb 08 07 10:53 am

Hello, we have clients that log into a Vbasic server across the internet. We have scripted the login process but if the internet is down or server is unavailable on boot up of the client it reports "web site cannot be found". I need a proxy app that can cache this web site from the last operating data. Will Wingate Proxy do this for me?

We can get the proxy to cache after it logs into the web server but not during a boot up sequence.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi

do you mean pre-fetch the URL and cache it when starting up?

WinGate won't do this currently, although you can run other apps that will spider a site, and if you run them through WinGate and it can be cached, then that would do it.

e.g wget.exe
