Access to log sever fails

Postby ngrayson » Feb 12 07 7:57 am

Guys,

I since I upgraded to 6.2.0, I cannot seem to see my log and audit files.

I have the registery key set (has been for years) to use a diffeent location, a shared drive. This has work perfectly but now when I try to view them from my browser on port 8010, I can get into the directory but not the files.

It presents the usuall interface and I select the "service logs" directory and then the "logs" directory but then I get a "you are not authorsed to view this page.

Its not a windows permission issue as the pages are served up by the log server.

Any clues?

Cheers

Hi Neil

This was a known issue in 6.2.0 related to trailing / characters in the WWW proxy / log file server... it was fixed I believe in 6.2.1

looks like it didn't make it into the release notes though...

Hi Adrien,

Just updated to 6.2.1 and it still appears to be there.

You sure it made it?

ahhhh..

I know I fixed it but maybe it didn't make it into the release, since there were many other changes as well, we deferred those to WinGate 2007, so maybe it didn't make it in...

sorry! I'll check what's required to get it in there.

So Adrian,

Any news on this. Its not just the "/" thats the problem, the fiel format is wrong, no crlf so its impossible to decipher.

Its a bit of a pain and i have seen other who would like it fixed also. Any estimate on the next bug fix release.

Also what is wingate 2007 and will this be chargeable?

Cheers

Neil, I know this isn't a solution it just makes the log files readable (by a human at least). What I do is go to the desired logfile in the browser with the extra "/" then I go to View, Source in IE or View, Page Source in FireFox. Things then appear normal in the source code. This issue is a bit of an irritant. Hopefully new version out soon and I assume that old Ver. 6 license will still work as in the past new releases - just that you won't get any of the new "features" that have been added.

Chris,

Many thanks for the workaround which does do the job.

I guess now we have to wait for WG 2007 and what it brings.
