I recently upgraded from 5.0.7 to 5.2.2 and am now having problems accessing the internet from either client machines or the server. (This was not a problem with 5.0.7)
I installed 5.2.2 as an upgrade, so no changes were made to the configuration.
The local web browser is typically set to use 127.0.0.1:80 for browsing so that URL content filtering is enabled, however it cannot access the internet even if the proxy server settings are disabled.
When the firewall is DISABLED, then I am able to access the internet as well as the log server.
ANOTHER issue is that I find that I cannot access the LOG server using 127.0.0.1, but rather have to use the actual IP address of the server for using the Logfile server. Bindings are enabled for 127.0.0.1 as well as the local IP. This is regardless of the firewall being enabled.
I have attached the NAT logfile with debug enabled. You can see sessions where the firewall is disabled and traffic is allowed to pass, as well as sessions with the firewall enabled to allow game playing.
One last note, the server running Wingate is behind a Linksys router with its own NAT enabled. I also have the Wingate NAT enabled. This provides me with two private subnets, one for the wireless LAN and another for the wired LAN that has protection using Winsight. Again, this used to work with version 5.0.7
