running ssh through wingate

Postby irishgirl » Jan 15 04 5:26 am

hi,
I have am trying to run an ssh shell from a client machine on my network, through my wingate server. i can make a connection ok, but after 1 min of inactivity on the connection, it gets dropped. When i stop wingate, i get a normal timeout from the server, has anybody ever seen this issue? or does anybody have an idea for a solution? I am using the default set-up for wingate, with no added services installed. I have noticed on wingate, that port 22 ( for ssh) is not running, and there does not seem to be an option to add this service, is this my problem?

many thanks

That sounds like a timeout from the ENS driver. If you are using ENS, you can create a port security action for Port 22 (Simply set it to Allow Packet) and specify the timeout to be whatever you want it to be.

The best solution would be if you could configure your client application to send keep-alives if it supports it.
