IP Blackhole list doesn't save?

Postby ConorB » Jan 21 04 6:32 am

Hi,

We're evaluating WinGate 5.2.2 build 892. Anyone have a problem changing the IP Blackhole list? No matter what we do on that dialog (add, delete, uncheck the "Enable Blackhole list" box) the changes don't get saved and once you go back into the dialog the settings have reverted back to the default (to block 127.0.0.1).

The reason this is a problem is that we can get clients to initiate dialup on the WinGate server machine but we can't get any apps on the server machine itself to initiate dialup, it looks as if the local machine may be getting blocked by this blackhole list.

Any ideas much appreciated.
Thanks,
Conor

Conor,

Are you running GateKeeper locally or remotely?

Haven't seen this problem before.

Is your trial license still good?

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm running GateKeeper locally and I only downloaded WinGate on Friday so the trial still has over 3 weeks to go. Both our own test app (opens up a socket) and regular windows apps like IE on the clients cause dialups but nothing on the server will! I thought it was because of the IP Blackhole issue but that could be a red herring.

Regards,
Conor
