Any way to see current user bandwidth?

Postby Reg » Jan 26 04 1:49 pm

Ive got a problem where users are hogging bandwidth using telephony and p2p software. Is there anyway i can see the currnet bandwidth used by any one user (or group) at any time?

Presently there is no bandwidth management tool in WinGate, although it is being worked on. Currently your best bet is the traffic monitor, which can be accessed through the View menu in Gatekeeper. Additionally, although slightly different to your original request, you could create policies that limit the amount users download, the time of day they are on, or even the ports they use, as a way of restricting use, and helping to control bandwidth usage that way.

Thanks Neil,

Any idea when a working version (alpha, beta, etc) will be out with bandwidth control? I'd love to try it out.

Cheers

At the moment we don't have a date for a beta, but it will probably be a couple of months away. There's quite alot fo new features, and re-writes of existing functionality in it. But we will post here as soon as we have firmed up on a date.
