I have installed Wingate (latest version) onto a W2k system to act as my proxy, and am using the proxy style log with java authentication from my XP stations (as wgic doesn't seem to work on XP). The java applet appeared but very slowly (20 secs at least) so I installed the Java Web Start plug in from Sun Microsystems onto my XP stations. This cured the speed problem but now when a user logs off, having first closed IE and loged off the applet and closed it, he gets an IExplore closing down patch that seems to have come from the task manager. This would suggest that even if the user properly closes IE and the java applet that the wingate applet is still running somewhere. Checking the task manager shows nothing. Also on the wingate proxy the user seems to be still logged in even though he has logged off both wingate and the network. Has anyone any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Thanks
