Here is the deal. I have been trying for months to get one of my clients connected from home to their office network. I have tried various different products with various levels of failure.
I recently attempted to use wingate as the firewall for their connection at home and setup windows vpn into their office network. So far this also has failed. I would REALLY REALLY like to get this option to work and will give you the detail below of what I tried.
My second option would be to use your VPN product. As I mentioned earlier, I have made many attempts at this and they have all failed for one reason or another.
Here is the current configuration.
Office
Windows 2000 servers behind a Sonicwall Firewall
Home
One computer connected to the internet via a starband satellite connection(my only option). The starband satellite connection is using a usb modem directly connected to the pc. I have a network card in the pc connected to the rest of the home network.
I am currently running wingate(without the firewall protection running, because everytime I turn it on, I lose connection from the pc to the USB modem connecting the internet).
I have one computer running the wingate client on the home network. Currently when I try to connect using the windows vpn client, it says connected and authenticating. I then get a 721 error.
What I want to know is if the vpn client will work in this scenerio.
thanks
Justin
