Connect to Corporate LAN via VPN via Wingate

Feb 17 04 9:21 am

Hi,

Please help, I need help to configure VPN, and I don't understand the instructions...

Required config:

laptop (192.168.0.99) - desktop (192.168.0.51) - DUN - Internet

I can get this set up no problem, so that laptop uses Wingate on desktop to access web/mail.

I would like to access corporate LAN using VPN from laptop via the desktop so that others can use connection at same time. This is where I am stumped.

Can access corporate LAN via VPN no problem if using a direct internet connection. The only setting I need to change on VPN client (Cisco VPN 5000 v5.2.3) to get it to run from my LAN is to ask it to use NAT Transparency and select a port (any of 90, 900 or 2020).

Even when I do this, it does not even try to connect to corporate VPN server. What do I need to set on the Wingate Server (desktop) to get it to relay my laptop to my corporate VPN?

BTW, I have disabled all firewalls - on laptop, desktop and the one mentioned in Wingate.

Any and all help appreciated,

W

Is the Cisco VPN using PPTP or IPSEC?

We are still working on IPSEC through WinGate, but PPTP/GRE works fine
