Hosting a webserver from within a network on Windows XP

Mar 02 04 2:10 am

Code:
This is My Network

I want to setup a VPN from outside the Office to this network. So Far I have tried

Microsofts native VPN solution, Wingate VPN, and PCanywhere.

None of them work. How can I address individual machines froom a remote location.

I also want to host mail server and a webserver. But since there is no way to address the

machines from the internet I can't do this either.

I can ping both local and internet addresses from all machines.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Access the vpn remotely using the router WAN address and direct the necessary ports to the vpn server which has access to the network

What router are you using and do you have the ability to access the front panel on it?

The router is Lucent Cellpipe series 20. No there is no panel. just some lights.

there is a serial port . probably to program the thing to connect to the ISP.

By front panel I meant accessing the Router via the serial or network to enable port forwarding. Go here to get the documentation >

I felt the same way not too long ago (see some of my earlier posts), but I will say that once running it's a valuable asset to have on your network, also, it doesnt matter which product you use (XP vpn or even PCAnywhere), they all need you to redirect the ports unfortunately, and being honest it aint that hard once you get the idea. Email me if you like.
