Using internet connection on the server side

Is it possible to use the internet access of the server node network on the wingate vpn client? If it is, how?

You are using the WinGate Internet Client on your network, correct ? If so, it should be possible to use GDP to discover the remote the network once the VPN is connected and to switch WGIC to use that.

Otherwise, if GDP does not see the remote server, you could manually add that server to your list. Routing, etc. will still happen through the VPN, so that should work.

But what if I don't want to use WGIC? I have problems with WGIC (btw I have no answer to my question already two weeks). Can I just use the vpn server IP as default gateway? Or at least manually specify 0.0.0.0 route to it?

Default gateway will conflict with your normal route out to the Internet (Needed for VPN). What about proxies ?

(The other question was for the Asores client ? Last I heard on that one was QA trying to get it to run (Asores by itself))

It won’t conflict if I specify different route only for to the IP in the Internet where VPN server is. I already tried that and it works. At least vpn connection works. But I lose any other Internet connection. The problem is I don't know how to setup a route to 0.0.0.0 such as the request to be natted at wingate server. It should be possible on theory, but it won’t work. What should be the gateway and interface? And how do I configure wingate server Nat and/or routing?

Destination IP is the one with Wingate server. Gateway is my usual internet gateway. The interface is my only lan card.

I imagine the route through the VPN server will be something like that

Destination mask gateway interface
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.10.2 192.168.10.2

But this is not working.

When I connect to the VPN server I gain access to its internal (behind nat) IP which is 172.16.134.52. But I cannot add this as a gateway, because it is not on my subnet. If I make my own local network at home a part of the wingate server internal network by taking some IPs for example 172.16.134.53 and 172.16.134.54? Would that be any help?
