The problem has been resolved by reinstalled but have an other question need help.
On the server site, only the server name under the Remotely Accessible Network. I checked the local participation, it is Local Network already. How to add all or some local computers into the VPN?
Thanks!

Hi,

What kind of license do you have installed? You will need at least a 3 user license to see the other machines on the LAN. If you're using a trial license though you should be able to see it.

You will have to have the default gateway of the clients set to the internal IP address of the WinGate server to have them visible on the VPN.

Matt

Thank you for reply.
I am using a trial license.
The problem is: on the top of the winGate VPN windows right side, I can see all of the computers in my domail. But on the bottom of right side, I only can see the host in the local network. So, when my client connected, only can see the host too.
I checked the local participation and it has been setup as Local Network.
Do I need setup a gateway for each computer on the LAN to make them viewable on the VPN?
Thank again.

Try downloading the rip2 listener from the Qbik main board and load it on the machines behind the server.

Hi,

Do you have the clients' default gateway set to the WinGate VPN server? If not, please try this.

You should not install the RIP client on the VPN server, but you should be able to install it on the clients. You won't see an install but you should see it listed as a service if you look in Control Panel>services.

My problem is I can not see any computer beside the VPN server on my LAN under the VPN(Host)-Local network. In an other word, from the wingate VPN monitor on the VPN SERVER, I can see all of the computers on my LAN in the local network windows but only can see itself in the Remotely Accessable Networks windows.
I installed the ripv2 on a Win2k server on the LAN, but still can't see it in the VPN server's Remotely Accessable Networks windows.
How can I add them to the Remotely Accessable Networks on the VPN server first?
Thanks.

First, remove the rip2 client from the server then install the client on all the other machines in the LAN.

then in windows explorer search for one of the machines in the remote lan.

I didn't install rip2 on the VPN server. I'm using a winxp client connect to internet through earthlink dialing up connection. I was able to logon the VPN server (a WinNT server) but it is Not accessable in the Master local network. I tried to search the computer running rip2 client in the LAN, can't find it either. After around 1 min, I lost the connection with the VPN server. When I try to reconnect, allways timeout. Can't ping the VPN server, can't brower internet with IE either. Have to disconnect and restart the dialing up connection.
What shoul I do?

The top section of the network tab will show all of the computers that are visible to your server, however this does not mean that they will be automatically visible to the VPN. If you do not select local network participation then in the lower section you will not be able to see them.

You have said that you specified local network participation, but you haven't said whether you set each client machine's default gateway to the WinGate VPN server. You will need to do this to have them visible to the VPN. You can also try installing the RIP client on the clients.

If you're getting not accessible errors then it could be subnet conflict, make sure that each end of the VPN is using a different subnet. Also make sure that file and print sharing is enabled on the external interface of the server.
