Client computers rebooting upon connection to vpn server.

Having trouble with wingate vpn version 1.2.3

VPN server and clients are configured according to the guides i've found throughout the wingate site, i'm pretty confident its all setup correctly...
however, when the client machines establish the connection to the server (which seems to connect fine) the machines instantly reboot.

Both clients accessing the server have usb cable modems... one running win2k and the other winxp. i found somewhere in an earlier post on the forum that there may be a problem regarding usb modems and rebooting clients. is there a patch somewhere that i've missed?

I'm about to try the new beta version of wingate 6.0.0.935 in hopes it will do something different. I'm also yet to check whether the rebooting problem occurs with the same modem connected via ethernet.

will post an update when i can. pls help me wingate gurus! :o

ok quick update: exactly the same client using exactly the same configuration EXCEPT for an ethernet modem instead of a usb one. connected fine. usb connection on the same configuration reboots the client. i cant keep the clients connected via usb without buying more ethernet cards...

anyone know how i can fix this?

I had these problems with a few people on here using usb gear, it appears that the usb modems publish the wan side IP as well as the lan one, don't know if it has been cured as I havent been on here for a while. Also check that you have the very latest drivers and sufficient handles.
