Vpn connect but cant browse computers

Jul 12 04 8:31 pm

Hi there, I can connect to the vpn gateway (threw a router port forwarding).
I connect and can go to local network using a dialup connection (normal 56k modem) and see the computers. But i cant access any of these computers. (they are accessable if im on one of the computers on the physical network)

In the logs on the vpn gatewat I get:

1.

Ip address: 0.0.0.0
Activity: Tunnel to node Local network of GRAEME_LAPTOP(210.10.175.161:809 - this is the remote connection ip) with ID 2 active and update.

2.

ip address: 192.168.0.4 (which is the server ip address)
Activity: 'Local Network of GRAEME_LAPTOP' has joined 'eric'

If i type Start,Run, //computer1/ or try view them in network neighbour hood its not possible.

on my NAT i have these ports pointing to my wingate vpn server (192.168.0.4)

807-809 192.168.0.4
1024-4096 192.168.0.4
113 192.168.0.4

any ideas? thankyou in advance

Two quick questions:

1. Can you ping any of the machines on the other end of the VPN by their IP addresses ?

2. Did you forward port 809 UDP as well ?

Yup i found my problem I did not have file sharing on my dialup PPP connection and i enabled netbios over tcpip. Thanks for the reply, great to see quick support :)
