One of our clients has had a wingate vpn for about 5 months, they wanted to add a server so we built them a server, and chose to also host the vpn off it instead of a client. It was decided the best method would be too remove the old vpn and create a new one with the server as host.
Problem is, it shows as connected, but the remote machine cannot ping / access the server and the server cannot access the remote machine.
The Server is connected to a DSL modem / router with NAT turned on, there are 3 local machines on the same lan as it.
The remote machine is also behind a NAT and on DSL. They use a network diary software to organise meetings and its important it gets back up and running asap.
What do I need to do to correct this ? the sites are quite far apart so it isn't in my best interests to keep travelling from one site to the other. I sent in a ticket but have yet to recieve a response, therefore I hope I find better luck here.

That sounds as if the tunnel is not established properly. Most of the time this is because of an intermediary NAT device that is not forwarding the tunnel port properly to the WinGate VPN Node.
Double check that you have the tunnel (Normally port 809,UDP) forwarded to the VPN Node from your DSL Modem / Router. (It's sometimes known as a virtual server / redirect / etc.)

Yeah i got it working, needed to put the server into the dmz, however it just has a medicore software firewall now so it may be a sitting duck.
