Firewall issue

Hi,

I have setup firewall to prevent connections on telnet port but I am still able to connect to it.

What I did is :

On Port Security tag -> Connections from internet -> Deny port 23
-> LAN connections to internet -> Deny port 23

Should this be enough ??

Is the telnet server running on the same machine as WinGate or else where on the network? Either way this should be enough to block connections from the internet connecting to your telnet server. Where are you trying to connect to it from? Does anything show up in your firewall? How are you connected to the internet? Is this full WinGate or just WinGate VPN?

Hi Neil,

I'am using very simple setup. A single computer connected to the local ISP by using dial-up powerd by Wingate VPN only.

Couldn't be any simpler.

Could I use such a setup to block a specific port traffic ??
