High CPU Utilization.

Postby g_datir » Dec 01 04 6:07 pm

We have the Licensed version of Wingate VPN 2.0 License ID is 481157 Registered to ENOC, UAE.

For the last one month after receiving updated wingate.exe file the server was working fine, but since last one week, the CPU utilization has gone high around 60%. Normally it use to stay around 10 %. And after running for one day it finally gets hang.
We have 130 remote users using the wingate server. We have renamed the history.dbf and other log files as suggested by you, this solved the problem for a day, but again now it is the same. We have also diabled the wins resolver logging, as the log file had grown to 140 MB.
Still the problem of high cpu utilisation remains.
Your help in this regard is required.

Thanks,
Gautam Datir (Emirates National Oil Co. ENOC)

On the general tab of the VPN Server configuration, is the option to "Allow client nodes to learn of other nodes" still checked?

One thing to check could also be the size of the VPN log file itself.

with 130 connected nodes, this will get a fair bit of activity, and if it grows big, could cause higher CPU loading like you are seeing.
