I setup a VPN at a small office. I have set the Local Participation as "Local Network" as to allow for the whole network to be seen. I am behind a router and firewall that is connected to a cable modem with a static ip address. Now I set up the port forwarding on the router and that seems to be okay. Now I am on a workgroup network at the office. Now I set up to join the VPN on a dial-up connection. When I join the VPN every thing seems to be okay. Now the only thing that doesn't work is when I expand the Master network under the Network tab in Gate Keeper in the Remotely Accessible Networks. I expand the Microsoft Windows Network and I see my workgroup at the office. Then I expand that and I see all of the computers that are currently connected at the office. Now I only have WinGate VPN installed on one of the computers (the master). That computer has a blue screen on the icon whereas all of the other computers is grayed and says "(Not accessible)" after the name of the computer. So I want to connect to the master computer, because there is a folder that is being shared called shared documents. When I try typing in the computer name in the My Network Places address bar like "\\mastercomputer" (not really called mastercomputer) I get an error saying it can't find the computer. Is there a step I am missing?
Thanks

What operating system are you using on the machines, what are the IP ranges, have you installed rip2 listening or enabled it on the router

How are the clients configured to route back to the remote VPN ? You need to configure this, otherwise your remote VPN will be routing packets TO them, but they will never know where to send their responses to.
So, you need to configure them so they'll know that packets going to the foreign subnet must be routed through the VPN Server. You can do this in one of three ways:
(a) Install a RIP v 2 listener on each client
(b) Set a static route to point all traffic to the remote subnet through the main VPN machine
(c) Set their default gateways to the VPN machine
Our VPN Setup Guide, in the Knowledgebase deals with these issues and some fairly common troubleshooting that you can do to ensure everything is working fine.
