Remote desktop access via VPN possible??

Postby mauka » Mar 07 04 11:30 am

Does someone know how to manage a remote desktop access via VPN using a WinXP Client to a Win2003 server? In the domain area, remote desktop access works fine, but I'm not able to connect via VPN tunnel.
VPN Access works fine, but in the moment I open the remoe desktop client on the WinXP machine and try to connect to the servers ip(Server is "ping"able), I get the standard remote desktop client screen, but it stays grey. On the top, I can see the label that indicates (the try of ) a connection and the "sand watch" stays until a timeout occurs.
Does somebody has exprience in using WinGateVPN and remote desktop?? Thanks for help.Manfred

Got the following message from JonO

I may be wrong but this sounds similar to a problem I was having when setting up the wingate VPN. I cured it by lowering the mtu to 1350 you can see the threads here
