yep, unfortunately that is the way it needs to be, else you get routing conflicts.
WinGate VPN does not allocate new IPs or set up virtual adapters, you should think of it as a virtual distributed router, where every node on the VPN (WinGate VPN installation) is a port on your router.
In a router, all the ports need to be on different logical subnets, which means they all need to have different ranges of IPs.
