WinGate VPN on DirecWay

I've setup WinGate VPN server at the office and can access it from my home lan as well as from starbucks with my laptop ;). However, we have an employee in another state, and his only "hi-speed" option is DirecWay (the two modem version, no dialup needed).
The problem we're having is that as soon as he installs WinGate VPN and reboots after installation, his computer goes into an endless rebooting loop. It comes up, shows icons and desktop, then before it's done loading, it reboots.... over and over. Does anyone have any similar experience? Booting up in safe mode and removing WinGate VPN fixes the problem ;). Alternatively, is there a different way of loggin into a WinGate VPN Server without using the same software?

The only time I have seen this was due to outdated/broken nic drivers, I updeted to the latest (windows) version of the driver and it stopped.
