Does the Cable/DSL router have its own Firewall?.
If so you will need to open pinholes for ports 809 on TCP and UDP to allow WinGate to connect to the other end of the VPN.(office PC)
WinGate VPN uses port 809 TCP for the control channel and Port 809 UDP for data. You need to open these ports on the router's firewall (if it has one) so that it can pass the required info for WinGate VPN to function.
By default when adding a configuration to the WinGate VPN, whether it be importing a configuration to Join, or setting up a VPN to host, WinGate should present you with an option/dialog to create these holes in its own firewall at the end of configuring the VPN.
You can check this in WinGate by looking in the ENS/Port Security tab to see if thse ports are listed.
