Wingate VPN error connecting to local host

Postby Hawkins » Oct 15 03 5:24 am

I have a Sony Vaio laptop with a GPRS card trying to connect to the VPN.
Ther problem is that I can't even get far enough to test the connection.

After I install Wingate VPN (v1.0.9) I go to log onto the localhost, ie the initial logon screen when Wingate VPN is run (tried both using localhost with port 808 and by ticking log onto local machine), it comes up with the no password message so I okay this and then an error box pops up saying:

'Problem connecting to server'
There was a problem connecting to the server.
Connection refused by server. Check your server name and port number

You click okay and it goes back to the logon screen.
This happened with the previous version of Wingate VPN we tried (v1.0.6)

Both versions have worked with all other machines we have tried but not his one.

Please help as this is the main laptop we want to get the VPN running on and provided we get it sorted in the trial period then we will purchase it.

Regards

I have sorted this problem out. It was an issue with the firewall blocking access to the port 808.
