Hi there

If your Ipaq connects to a terminal server behind a WinGate Server then you will need to open the approriate hole in the WinGate firewall for the terminal service. This can be set under the Port Security tab which is located in the ENS configuration of Gatekeeper.

Select the "Connections from the Internet" and then the port (and protocol tcp/udp). Below this there is a "redirect packet" option where you can enter the internal IP address of the server providing the terminal service.

This way all traffic coming in from the Internet (from your PDA) on this port will be sent to the Terminal Server.

We have tested this with ordinary ordinary remote terminal services client PC connecting in on both Win2000 and XP and found it works well. So Im sure it you would be able to get it to work for Win2000 mobile as well.

As for the VPN config, repeat the same procedure but open the appropriate port for the VPN you are using. Just be aware that only the current beta 3 of WinGate version 6 and above will support Ipsec Lt2p vPn connections, but PPTP based Vpn will work fiine.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on

Regards
