How many licenses are necessary for me if I use only one computer as a server, but a network big And 2 clients ?

You need one license per installation of WinGate VPN. Then the size of each license depends on how many machines will be using that WinGate VPN installation.

you only need one installation of WinGate VPN per LAN you are trying to connect, since WinGate VPN works in a gateway mode to allow an entire network to participate in a VPN.

Hello Pascal,

I am running wingate V6.1. Your sale department explain me licensing so I have one license for my laptop and at home my server has a 3 users licenses. Those licenses where installed a couple days ago. I discover that problem last night.

I have created tough that VPN host when server had only one license. Perhaps with the new licensing I should recreate host.

Do you mean you get this same error about activating a license?

If you had already activated the single user license on the server machine, you will need to deactivate it on that machine in order to be able to activate it on your laptop.

I purchased the 50 user lan licence back in Feb, and I just upgraded to ver 2.0. Participating are 4 separate networks, and 6 remote/laptop users - all machines total only 45. I'm concerned about this activation thing - you will allow my particular key to be activated up to 50 times, correct? Please explain.

Activation only applies to the computer you are installing it on. It does not alter or change the limits imposed by the conditions of the license, etc.

(So, you don't need to activate it 50 times - you only activate it once on the VPN machine)
