Did you run an upgrade recently ? It sounds as if you have and unfortunately, you seem to be suffering from two of the more common problems with it.
First, the inability to log into the local network is caused by incorrect adapter useage. WinGate (And WinGate VPN) deems an adapter that has a default gateway to be an external (public) adapter.
Your second problem is the disappearing GateKeeper. We are trying very hard to reproduce this one - so perhaps you can help me out a bit here. Check in your installation folder (Normally C:\Program Files\WinGate)
There should be a sub-folder called "DLL Cache". If that folder exists, there will be a .dll file (Or perhaps 2) in there. If that is the case, can you zip those DLLs and email them directly to me, please ? My email address is listed in my profile (pascalv at qbik dot com)
If that folder does not exist things are going to get a little bit tricker. Can you then search for any / all instances of the following DLL files:
69cc632d-fefe-4803-b4ee-6b2c1f97c2af.dll
d468f96e-bc1d-4939-8892-5374e127b603.dll
Please make a note of where they are found and then zip and send each file to me as well, telling me where the files came from. If you could do that, I would be very very appreciative, as we've been unable to reproduce this and I believe it to be a DLL versioning issue.
To fix it, you should copy the DLLs from "C:\Program Files\Qbik Licensing" to the "DLL Cache" folder. This process should happen automatically, but in some cases (Working out which, which I can probably do with your help in this case) it does not happen and causes the problems you've seen.
