VPN Rookie Questions

Postby Brooks Norton » Oct 25 03 8:02 am

I have a lan at work I want to create a VPN connection from home. We have Wingate latest version at work. Our network is a Windows Domain type.

After the VPN is set up, will I be presented the standard Windows network login box?

If your OS at home is NT/W2K/XP Pro you should be prompted to log on to the domain the first time you attempt to access a domain resource.

If you logged on to your home computer with a username/password that matches a valid domain username/password the domain should validate you based on those and you won't be prompted.

WIN9x only let's you access domain resources if you log on to the local computer with a valid domain username and password.
