licensing confusion

Postby Rburn99 » Oct 24 08 3:49 am

We are trying to figure out what we have to buy and I'm rather confused on the licensing page.

What do I have to purchase so 5 people can access our network from home?

Hi

First thing to remember is you need a license for every installation of WinGate VPN.

So, if there are 5 remote workers (all separate locations), they will each need to install WinGate VPN to join the VPN, therefore they will each need a licence. If each of these 5 workers are only going to use a single machine onto the VPN (rather than say connect their whole home network), then a remote licence is all that's required for their installation. You can buy a 5 pack of single user licenses.

You'll also need a licence for the WinGate VPN they all connect to, presumably running at your office. This presumably is to allow the office to be accessible. Depending on how many machines at the office you want these remote workers to be able to access, the license for the office installation would vary accordingly. E.g if there are 5 machines in the office you want people to be able to access from the VPN, then a gateway license for 6 computer LAN would be required.
