WinGate VPN with Windows 7 64 bit

Postby Dennis E Evans » Jun 07 11 5:18 am

after installing wingate vpn I am unable to connect to the server. Also, Internet Explorer and the email client will not function after installing wingate vpn. the version installed is the most recent from you web site.

Anything spcifically I should do to connect or to just get this thing working?

Hi Dennis

If you open your network adapter properties (in the OS), does the Qbik NDIS driver (or WinGate Network driver for WinGate 7) show as installed on that adapter?

If not, this is the problem. You can manually install it:

* Click install
* Select service
* select the Qbik NDIS driver

and go from there.

What sort of internet connection are you using?

Not a Mobile Broadband or 3G modem?

What about your LAN adapter?

what server are you unable to connect to?

>What sort of internet connection are you using?

Wireless, DSL from ATT

>Not a Mobile Broadband or 3G modem?

no,

>What about your LAN adapter?

Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802 11n PCHE-NIC, a Sager Notebook, Intel i7 970 Windows 7 Pro version 64 bit.

>what server are you unable to connect to?

the server is a Windows 2008 system, using the WinGate Server software. I will need to go into the office to get additional details, if you need version numbers etc.

One other question,

when I uninstalled the system would not connect ot de-activate. What happens when I install again to try and correct the problem? will the system just reuse the key? or what steps, if any, do I need to take to re-install?

Hi

when you uninstalled, was the Qbik NDIS adapter showing on the network adapter? Did you ever see this on a network adapter?

If you re-install the software on the same computer, you should be able to re-activate the key no problem.

If not, and you purchased directly from us, you can deactivate your key online, or email us at support@wingate.com and we can do it for you.

ok, if it's still showing on the adapter, can you uninstall it and see if that restores connectivity.
