WingateVPN via ADSL

Postby noway » Dec 22 05 3:01 am

How can I connect to remote network using Wingate VPN if I have an Integernet connection via LAN ADSL modem (my default gateway: 192.168.3.1).
So I have VPN key and I can connect to remote network, but all recources is unavailable. And I cannot ping anything in my remote network.
What's the problem ??? I suppose that the reason in TRACE ROUTES.

But If I connect to Internet via DIAL-IP connection and try to connect to my remote network everything is ok! and I can use remote recourses

Your ADSL router/modem should have UDP port 809 open - this is what Wingate VPN uses for data channel.

Comments:

1. WinGate VPN will only connect to other WinGate VPN installations; it is proprietary and cannot be used to connect to other VPN solutions.

2. The WinGate VPN Host and Joiner needs to be on different subnets; it is a routing based solution.
So if the WinGate VPN Host is on the 192.168.0.x / 255.255.255.0 subnet, then the WinGate VPN Joiner needs to be on something like:
e.g. 192.168.1.x / 255.255.255.0
10.0.0.x / 255.0.0.0
Dialup Modem, IP Address provided by ISP.

Can you please send an email to sales@wingate.com with:

1. A reference to this forum post
2. What version of WinGate / WinGate VPN Only are you using? e.g. 6.1.1 / 2.1.1
3. An ipconfig/all from the VPN Host.
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd /k ipconfig/all >> C:\ipa.txt
4. A route print from the VPN Host.
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd /k route print >> C:\ipa.txt
5. WinGate Configuration report.
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Report
6. What security suites / firewalls are installed on the Host / Joiner / participants behind Host or Joiner.

You might also want to send your phone number and a good time to talk.
