Can connect to and see the network, can't browse host

Postby Really Frustrated » Jun 17 06 5:45 am

I've intalled RIP, turned on routing, there are no IP conflicts. I can login and see the network but still can't browse the network machines. I'm using XP Pro SP2 on the host, XP Home on the client. There is a linksys wireless WRT54G router in front of both machines.
When I connect to the VPN from with the LAN I don't have any problems.
Anybody have any ideas.

Found the answer. I turned off the firewall on the client and was able to browse just fine. Surprisingly, I was able to turn the firewall back on and reconnect then everything worked just fine. Imagine that!

Was that the WinGate firewall or Window/other firewall?
