CANNOT SEE SERVER...

Postby mcit » Sep 15 06 7:15 pm

I have a Wingate VPN 1.01 installation that when the laptop clients log in from outside the network, cannot see the server at all. The VPN is set for local machine access only [clients only access files on the server].

One interesting thing is that when on the server looking at the VPN through the main interface, in the Local Network Section under Microsoft Windows Network, I can see all the local network machines but not the server.

What would cause this behavior. This client does not want to upgrade to wingate6 as everything else works fine here. I initially thought this was a routing problem but if the server cannot see itself through wingateVPN, then is there another problem?

Does the server have a firewall application of any kind installed (apart from Wingate)?

No there is no firewall on this server at all. There is very little runnign on this machine other than wingate and some shared directories.
