If i'm correct, Wingate VPN can help me here, since it DOES handle broadcast UDP packets (right?) There is only one small (or big - depending on the answer) 'but': The clients are all MAC's running the latest MAC OS! Is it possible to let them connect to Wingate VPN?
Hmmm. Well, Warcraft 3 was part of the reason for that feature, and yes, WinGate VPN does relay UDP broadcast packets.
Unfortunately, we don't have a version for MAC OS available currently. I'm going to throw a few ideas out there though, maybe somebody who knows MACs better can make a few other suggestions.
1. The more expensive solution would be to put a small, cheap Windows PC down that connects to your primary server. Then point the MAC to connect out through that. Obviously, not the best solution as there is a bit more cost outlay than for just a VPN Software solution.
2. Second option is to try it through an emulator ...

etc.
The WinGate VPN is available in a trial version, it will give you 30 days to experiment around with different ones. I'm not sure if it will work though - don't have enough knowledge about MACs and emulators to say yeah or nay for sure.
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
