client won't dial out

Hello;
Running Wingate 5.07. Server is XP Pro using dialup modem and client is WinME using a static IP address.
Problem is I can't figure out how to make the client get the server to dial out. If I establish a connection first on the Wingate server, then the client shares the connection quite nicely and I can even disconnect server via the client. But when I try to establish a connection first with the client, I get "server cannot be found"
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thanks -- Gil Theissen

Is this a WinGate problem rather than a VPN problem? It sounds like you are using the WGIC, is that correct? On the ME client machine that is using the WGIC you need to also set the DNS of that machine (set in the TCP/IP properties) to point to the WinGate machines internal IP address.
