NetPatrol Engine service started, appears to not be running

I just installed NetPatrol to evaluate on my WinGate Server, and there appears to be some problems. My WinGate Server is a Dual Core Penium 800 series processor, 2GB of RAM running Windows XP Pro, SP2.

I launched the NPConsole, and only had three menu options. File, View and Help. In reading the help file, my console does not look like what the console does in Help.

I also noted that I should see a NetPatrol engine icon in the system tray. No such icon appears in the system tray, but in checking the services that are running, the Qbik NetPatrol Engine started after the installation reboot.

In checking the postings for NetPatrol, there is very little activity in the group, and NetPatrol has not been updated since 2004. Is this a mature product that will not be updated in future?
